Players take on the role of a samurai, sumo wrestler, or ninja, cutting down hordes of undead in procedurally generated dungeons. Story & World
Set in 1854, during the late Edo period of Japan. The Western world, undergoing a "Zombie Industrial Revolution," eagerly seeks new colonies with overwhelming power. Black ships arrive, bringing a zombie invasion to Japan's isolated shores. The undead quickly overrun Edo, but a few individuals immune to infection and wielding mysterious powers appear — the "Zom-beings." To restore Japan to its pre-opening state, three Zom-beings rise up against the zombie threat.
